No. I am presuming that they arc living in Singapore and they applied to the Local Government for a British subject's passport valid for China.

After the father is dcnationalized what is the son's

position in China ? Can we give him a clean passport ?

I would regard them as British subjects in China, but I would expect them to call and register

themselves as such on arrival at the Consulate in

China whereupon the fact that they are British

subjects will be notified. If they fail to do so

they might get into trouble.

What is the Chinese Government going to

recognize them as

I think the position is that if the children arc under age they are of the father's nationality

recognized as such. They must register of course, but over the age they would have to denationalize

themselves if they are in China.

In Singapore I think the question would not
